Details
Effective Lead and Cyst RemovalOur FI-PB20-BB filter consists of activated carbon particles fused into a uniform block with enhanced adsorptive capacity and efficiency. With a radial (outside-to-inside) direction, it provides increased dirt-holding capacity and low pressure drop. Unlike granular activated carbon (GAC) filters, the FI-PB20-BB will not channel or bypass due to the extreme uniformity of their extruded activated carbon core. The FI-PB20-BB's extruded activated carbon filters reduce soluble lead using an ion-exchange filter medium with high specificity for soluble lead. Ultra-fine 0.5 micron particulate filtration is used to intercept insoluble lead-containing particles and cysts. With its proprietary extrusion process, FI-PB20-BB offers high levels of chemical reduction in potable drinking water, including chlorine taste and odor. FI-PB20-BB also meets NSF/ANSI Standard 53 for turbidity and cyst reduction, including Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Entamoeba and Toxoplasma, and will fit in our 20 Inch standard whole house big housings. Note: With the micron rating being so fine (0.5µm), to avoid clogging we strongly recommend installing multiple sediment pre-treatments prior to the PB Filter. Pre-filters can be arranged in the following order: sediment filter with 25µm first --> sediment filter with 1µm next --> PB filter with 0.5µm last (Find sediment filters here). This way the filtration will be more effective and the PB filter will also last longer.

This filter consists of activated carbon particles fused into a uniform block with enhanced adsorptive capacity and efficiency. This type of filter flows in a radial (outside-to-inside) direction, providing increased dirt-holding capacity and low pressure drop. Unlike granular activated carbon (GAC) filters, PB filter cartridges will not channel or bypass due to the extreme uniformity of their extruded activated carbon core. Service life of PB filters are greatly extended by a prefiltration medium.
